There’s a lot of colour out there this spring. I’ve never understood why people in Vancouver gravitate towards black and grey. It’s so grey here most of the year I would think that we would all be craving colour like it’s vitamin D.

I don’t know about you, but I’m itching to ditch my boots for some spring pretties. With the weather being as it is – schizophrenic and totally unpredictable, I’m really into the recent trend of socks and sandals. It’s warmer and really pretty cute. I know it has been considered a major fashion misstep, but I trust non of us will be sporting this look anytime soon.
Major fashion don’t.
I think the both the Rachel Comey Coral and Plume are the perfect way to try out this trend. Because let’s face it, we’re ready to add a little spring to our step and if we can do it and keep our toesies cozy at the same time as looking super on trend…. Well that’s win win if you ask me.

You know how much we love a good cat eye, but when we spotted this spring 2012 trend we had to share. “The kitten flick is a shorter version of the traditional cat eye. It has the retro appeal of winged black liner without looking too overdone. All this means: it’s your best bet for looking bright-eyed and on trend, be it at the office or out with friends”, says FASHION magazine.
We love how subtle and barely there it looks. True believer’s of less is more, this look will definitely be seen more when we look into the mirror this spring.
A 60′s vibe sweeped the runways this fall. Designers were inspired by the original siren, Jean Shrimpton, of course. Think peter pan collars, sleeveless knit sweater dresses, and prim & proper caridgans in rainbow brights. Our in store favorites are the Carrier boot by Rachel Comey & the Nikita dress by Paul & Joe Sister.
We are seeing spots! Polka dots were shown everywhere, including retro dresses, tops, hats, and even tights. Our in store favorite is the Fern dress by WHIT.
Floral prints are a common spring theme, but this fall designers wanted to highlight on this cheery print on wintery clothes too. Our in store favorites include the Floral Powder Puff print by Tucker & the much anticipated fall collection from Suno.
Go long. Another maxi moment happening, but this time for fall. Runway sweeping skirts, dresses, & coats. Our in store favorite is the Posey skirt by Rachel Comey.
If there was one color that stood out above the rest, it was red. Shades of scarlet, crimson and cerise were everywhere on the runway this season. Our in store favorites include anything and everything by Des Petits Hauts, their whole collection is splashed throughout! And we love it all.
