The right choice for a slightly more casual day time affair. This Suno dress is a total scene stealer with it’s perfectly positioned cut-outs and happy print.

3.What to wear: Traditional/church wedding

This dress is LBD perfection. It’s classic and conservative enough for a more traditional wedding – plus we love the nod it gives to Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Also an easy style to pair with a little cashmere cardigan for a church ceremony.

4.What to wear: Beach/destination wedding

This dress would be so gorgeous for a tropical destination wedding. Flat metallic strappy sandals, sun hat and a sun kissed glow. Perfection.

5.What to wear: Garden Party wedding

The perfect opportunity to wear something indulgently feminine and pretty. The garden wedding is all about the romance and this Erin Fetherston dress is pretty darn romantic. Wear it a pair of soft pink or nude ballet inspired flats – remember the grass! No stilletos here!

6.What to wear: Backyard bbq wedding

We love this kind of wedding -casual, laid back lounging in adirondacks and sipping lemonade. Wear this fantastically fun and versatile skirt with some clogs and pretty blouse. It says, “hi, I’m casual but I’m also super fashionable and awesome.” Isn’t that what we want all our clothes to say…? Thought so.

We really love weddings but what we really love even more are dresses!

Happy wedding season.

interview with suno via nylon

Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty of Suno talk about their Spring/Summer collection.

Suno was launched in 2009 after post-election violence threatened  to damage the economy and industry in Kenya, a long time second home to Osterweis.

Using vintage Kenyan textiles that Osterweis had been collecting for years, they created their first small collection, produced predominantly in Kenya.

Since its inception, Suno has eeolved its business to include production in Keny, India, Peru ad its home base of New York. Via a combination of traditional, local techniques and high-end tailoring, as well as an emphasisi on fit and fabric, Suno is able to offer a global, unique view of the luxury world in an accessible way.

wear it: skirts

I’m loving the look of mid length and maxi skirts for day wear. Here are a few great looks and style suggestions on how and what to wear them with.

A little inspiration found here.

This skirt is the best most amazing shade of pink! I love it styled with the sheer red blouse like above.

It would look equally amazing with an oversized mens style navy sweater like this lovely girl has done.

This skirt is fantastic. I wasn’t sure if it would be one of those pieces that only work on some people until I tried it on, took it home and fell in love. I’m not a tall lady, but wow, do I feel long and lean in this skirt.

In my dreams, it’s paired with this

I think long looks chicest when worn for daytime, much like sequins and red lips…

style inspiration: dirty dancing

Daydreaming of summer and Patrick Swayze this morning. Don’t ya just love Dirty Dancing? We love the 80s reinterpration of the 50s for Baby’s wardrobe in the film. From her high-waisted denim cut offs to the knotted checked shirts & striped tees, all of her outfits were totally perfect.

Here are a couple Dirty Dancing inspired pieces from the shop:
