manicure trends

Never before have I seen so many different nail options as this spring. Manicures have become as much of a fashion statement as clothing trends! I’m usually pretty classic when it comes to my nails and more often than not, I go bare, but something about this season is making me feel experimental. Do you get regular manicures or do you DIY or do you tend to go bare?

I love this take on a classic french manicure.

Mint is one of the key colours for spring. I think it’s pretty and unexpected for nails.

Here is my DIY attempt. I think it’s growing on me…

Would you wear it?

rachel comey DIY

We are fans of the nail art trend as documented here. So when we stumbled across this DIY nail tutorial taking inspiration from Rachel Comey’s spring 2012 collection, we had to share. And yes, that dress will be coming in for spring.

We can’t wait either!

the kitten flick

You know how much we love a good cat eye, but when we spotted this spring 2012 trend we had to share. “The kitten flick is a shorter version of the traditional cat eye. It has the retro appeal of winged black liner without looking too overdone. All this means: it’s your best bet for looking bright-eyed and on trend, be it at the office or out with friends”, says FASHION magazine.

We love how subtle and barely there it looks. True believer’s of less is more, this look will definitely be seen more when we look into the mirror this spring.

pretty pony

Do you have an instant hair fix? One that you pull out when you’re already late and you can’t leave the house with your hair simply worn down. I think the classic pony tail is over looked and I’m putting in back into my bag of tricks for sad hair days. I think the key to keep it from looking like you just pulled your hair back to wash your face is to go for a little texture or add in a pretty ribbon and of course a tiny bit of teasing never hurt even the quickest of pony’s.

Happy good hair days!
